In 1985, the World Police & Fire Games Federation, a non-profit organization run by the California Police Athletic Federation, established the World Police & Fire Games. Today, these Games are a spectacular 10-day international sporting event providing active and retired police officers, firefighters, and other public safety servants from around the world the opportunity to showcase their athletic excellence. Held biennially on odd-numbered years, WPFG continues to grow in terms of attendance and number of participating countries.
2017 World Police and Fire Games is pleased to join with LA 2024, the U.S. bid for the 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games, to promote their Volunteer Service Program, which will spotlight opportunities in 2017 for Angelenos to make a difference in their communities through volunteer work and community service with the bid and its nonprofit partners.
In recognition for their service, participants will receive priority consideration for volunteer opportunities during the Los Angeles 2024 Olympic & Paralympic Games. By volunteering with LA 2024 and working to improve our diverse communities, Angelenos will show the International Olympic Committee our city's abundant Olympic spirit and readiness to support the Games in 2024.
To participate in this program make sure to opt-in during your volunteer sign-up.
